About Dashboards(fx)

Introduction:
Dashboards(fx) was an idea started by Sherman. With a decade strong of experience working in the web industry, and growing up in the IT boom era, he has seen how the technology has grown over the years.

Sherman started his very first webpage at the age of 15, when Html was just starting to become popular back in 1997. And every since, he has been glued to the fascination of the web.

Graduating with a Diploma in Engineering Informatics, he has to enlist into the army like every singaporean boy who turns 18. During his army days, he didn't stop upgrading and learning. He was still learning about asp.net 1.1 as well as programming in C# and VB.NET, JavaScript.

After finishing army, Sherman got his first job as a Software Engineer with a small local IT firm, and things began from there.

.NET:
Sherman has been learning and playing with .NET technology since its birth in 2001/2002. And every since .NET 1.0, Sherman has been following closely with the development team's progress and the feature changes.

With almost a decade of knowledge, skills and experience in developing ,NET web solutions, Sherman wanted to share what he knows with the world, and more than that, to be able to help create a much more smarter business environments. He believes that having all the knowledge, but not being able to apply them is useless. Knowledge only transforms into skills when we have application.

BI Dashboards:
The idea started in 2012 when Sherman started working on web projects that are related to Web-based charting controls using ComponentArt. And from there, it sparked his inspiration to go into the business of producing Smarter, much more user-friendly and visually engaging Reporting Dashboards, using Silverlight and WPF technology. Silverlight and WPF has been a relatively young technology as compared to .NET itself.

Silverlight and WPF started in 2008, and has now grown into a matured technology. And although its not widespread in application among the local Singapore companies, there appears to be a great potential and future demand for it.

Sherman believes strongly in being the pioneering front of technology, just like creating raw html pages back in 1997. But this time, its all about returning and contributing value back to the various industries.
